OF HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
1. Significant Work of Management: According to Saltonstall, “The direct handling of people
is, and always has been, an integral part of every line manager’s
responsibility, from president down to the lowest level supervisor.” Plants,
offices, computers automated equipment, and all else that a modern firm uses
are unproductive except for human effort and direction.
2. Cut-Throat Competition: Competition for better quality products is fast growing in
industrial world these days. To keep an industry alive and dynamic, competition
has become must. Hence, to produce more and quality product, it is improved
capabilities.
3. Important Part of Success: HRM is the basis of any enterprise. It deals with each
part of organisation like finance, purchase, production and marketing. It
becomes more important while fixing and achieving the target, the objective of
the organisation. Personnel aspect or function is inherent in the process of
management itself, and in consequences is applied by all managers throughout
the organisation rather than by the personnel manager or his department.

human resource management aims at getting effective results with people, it
helps in their satisfaction and happiness Pigor and Myers state, “Good
personnel administration helps individual to utilize their capacities to the
full and to attain not only maximum individual satisfaction from their work but
also satisfaction as part of a work group.”
5. Blood of the Organisation: Human resource management the nervous system of the
organisation. E.F.L. Breach a renowned thinker has underlined its
importance using a simile of nervous system of the body. He writes “Personnel
management is not the brain, the controller, nor only just a limb, a member nor
yet the bloodstream, the energizing force. But it is the nervous system. It is
centered in the controlling unit of the brain, for personnel policy is a board
responsibility and it is interpreted through the Managing Director.
6. Managing Work Environment: Working environment are full of changes. Increased number
of employee, more specialized skills, demand for more benefits, complex
industrial laws, wage and salary changes, participation of employees in
management, and growing expectation of rank-and-file employees have created
problems demanding solution from personnel management. These changes influence
employment relationships.
7. Better Team Work: HR
manager ensure a good team of competent and dedicated employees and teamwork
among them securing their willing co-operation through motivation,
participation, proper employment relationship and grievance handling.
8. Two Role of HRM: HRM
performs tow fold role. It is regarded as line management responsibility and a
staff function. It is advisory and yet executive. It gives help to executive
and supervisors in the daily discharge of their human responsibilities.
9. Self Growth: HRM
contributes to professional growth by providing maximum opportunities for
personal development of each employee. It helps to improve the quality of work
life. It allocates work properly and maintains healthy work relationship
between individual and different work groups.
10. Corporate Social Responsibility: Human resource and their management plays a vital social
role in the development of a nation. It develops an efficient and committed
manpower in organisation. It develops their skills, attitude and values for
societal growth. It fulfills the expectation of both employee and society in
general.
11. HR is Managerial Activity: HRM is not a responsibility that a manager can leave
completely to someone else. Every manager retains personal responsibilities for
managing people, though he may secure help and advice from other managers,
professionals, and technicians.
