Marketing Systems
Every
marketing firm operates in its own systems. This systems is composed of many
external and internal factors. Now the question arises, what is system?
Webster’s New Collegiate Dictionary defines a system as “regularly inter-acting
or inter-dependent group of items forming a unified whole.” It means that a
system is composed of various items which are inter-active and inter-dependent
in nature. The human body, for example, is a total organic systems containing
various sub-systems.
Main Features of Marketing System
1. Marketing system operates on continuous basis.
The element of regularity prevails in the marketing system.
2. The sub-systems of total marketing system are
inter-active in nature. Every sub-system has its own impact on the other
sub-systems. Therefore, every sub-system has its effect on total marketing
systems.
3. The sub-system of total marketing are
inter-dependent in nature. Different sub-systems are not separate entities in
themselves. Each sub-system is dependent on other sub-systems.
4. Marketing system contains external or macro
factors and internal or micro factors. Every marketing firm should adjust
itself to the external factors because they are not under the control of the
firm. The internal or micro factors are manageable or controllable by the firm.
A marketing firm can gain much strength by the effective management of internal
or micro factors.
5. Each sub-systems represents a part of the total
system. For the unified whole we have to combine all sub-systems.
