MARKETING ORGANISATIONS
The term marketing organisation
connotes different meaning to different people. The term is widely used as a
group of people, a structure of relationship and a function of management. It
is a group of people who work together for the achievement of marketing
objectives. As a structure, it is a framework of duties and responsibilities
through which an enterprise performs its marketing function. As a process,
organisation is a process of identifying and grouping of activities to be performed,
defining and delegating responsibility and authority and establishing
relationship for the purpose of enabling marketing people to work more
effectively together in accomplishing marketing objectives. And also as a
function of management, organisation coordinates activities of the group of
persons for the achievement of certain predetermined goals.
Marketing is an important function for
any business firm, which should be properly organised. It must follow the
overall organisational patterns and principle. The reporting relationship in
marketing must be consistent with those for other functions.
